What Basket Sport Stars is
Basket Sport Stars is a cartoon match on one keyboard. You move a player, shoot with Up, and steal with Down. A second local player gets a different power-up key.
The catalog gives both sides movement on arrow keys or WASD, then splits the power-up: G for one side and L for the other. Two people who both reach for the same arrows will fight over movement.
Down is steal, not a second way to shoot. Pressing it on offense does not take the shot that Up is for.
Core mechanics
Up releases the shot. You still have to be in a spot where that shot can reach. Movement with WASD or the arrows is what creates the spot. Up does not dribble.
Down is the steal. Use it when the other player has the ball. Using it as a shoot button is the mistake that ends an open look.
G and L are not shared. The side that does not own that letter will not get the power-up by borrowing it. Agree on sides before the first possession.

How to play

Keep Up and Down apart
Up is the shot and Down is the steal. Pressing Down while you have the ball does not score.
Split the keyboard on purpose
Both sides are described with arrows or WASD. Two players need different action keys, G versus L, or they will cancel each other's movement.
Move, then shoot
Up does not create the angle. Get to a useful spot with the movement keys, then press Up once.
Common mistakes

A run from start to finish
Agree which player owns G and which owns L, then put the ball-handler's movement on one cluster of arrows or WASD. Press Up only after that cluster has placed the player. Down during the same possession steals from yourself in the sense that it never becomes the shot. The power-up letter is the extra action, and it is useless if you press the other person's letter.
When the ball changes hands, the defender's job is Down, not another Up. Two people who both hold the arrow keys will cancel the dribble before either power-up matters. Split the movement, shoot with Up, and steal with Down on the following stand.
Give one person the arrows and Up/Down, and the other person WASD plus their own power-up letter. Shoot a stationary Up after the movement keys have stopped. If Down was pressed in that same second, you asked for a steal while you had the ball. The next possession is the one that wants Down. G and L only work for the side that owns them. Pressing both letters does not give both players the power-up. If the characters vibrate in place, both people are holding a movement key. Let go, assign the clusters again, and take one Up shot from a still player.

- Steal with Down on the next defensive stand.
- Use your own power-up letter when you want that extra action, not the other player's letter.
